We died for our country, a tilled peice of sod,
we died for religion, a merciless god
we died for our families, who's tear stained the land
we died for our leaders, who never raised a hand
we died for our children, who would grow to be old
we died for our greed, the heartlessness of gold
we died for all reasons, from morals to lust,
but in no case was our dying warranted or just.
