Yee Haw

It's five o'clock, just got paid: I'll be off the next two days. No more workin' like dogs, No more leash, no more boss. I've got a weekend of nothin' to do at all: Yee Haw! I know a place down the road, The girls are hot, the beer is cold. It's two-for-one, yeah, that's right: Not just drinks; it's girls to guys. I hear the twins are back in town from Saginaw: Yee Haw! You take your all-right; you take your can't-wait. A lotta of bring-it-on an' some damn straight, An' mix it all up with some down home southern drawl, y'all: You got your yee haw! The place is packed, the line is long; The band know every Haggard song. I'm gettin' loose, I've had a few. She wants to dance; I do too. But her boyfriend's mad, I, I think he wants to brawl: All right, yee haw! You take your all-right; you take your can't-wait. A lotta of bring-it-on, an' some damn straight, An' mix it all up with some down home southern drawl, y'all: You got your yee haw!. I'm talkin big time, I mean saddle up an' hold on tight, An' if you know what I'm talkin' about, y'all, yeah: How about a yee haw, ha, ha. Yep, bow wow, y-e-e-h-a-w: yee haw.

Not Ready To Make Nice

Forgive, sounds good. Forget, I'm not sure I could. They say time heals everything, But I'm still waiting I'm through, with doubt, There's nothing left for me to figure out, I've paid a price, and i'll keep paying I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready to back down, I'm still mad as hell And I don't have time To go round and round and round It's too late to make it right I probably wouldn't if I could Cause I'm mad as hell Can't bring myself to do what it is You think I should I know you said Why can't you just get over it, It turned my whole world around and i kind of like it I made by bed, and I sleep like a baby, With no regrets and I don't mind saying, It's a sad sad story That a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger. And how in the world Can the words that I said Send somebody so over the edge That they'd write me a letter Saying that I better shut up and sing Or my life will be over I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready to back down, I'm still mad as hell And I don't have time To go round and round and round It's too late to make it right I probably wouldn't if I could Cause I'm mad as hell Can't bring myself to do what it is You think I should I'm not ready to make nice, I'm not ready to back down, I'm still mad as hell And I don't have time To go round and round and round It's too late to make it right I probably wouldn't if I could Cause I'm mad as hell Can't bring myself to do what it is You think I should Forgive, sounds good. Forget, I'm not sure I could. They say time heals everything, But I'm still waiting

My Old Friend

My old friend, I recall The times we had hanging on my wall I wouldn't trade them for gold Cause they laugh and they cry me Somehow sanctify me Their woven in the stories I have told And tell again My old friend, I apologize For the years that have passed Since the last time you and I Dusted off those memories But the running and the races The people and the places There's always somewhere else I had to be Time gets slim, my old friend Don't know why, don't know why Don't know why, don't know why My old friend, this song's for you Cause a few a few simple verses Was the least that I could do To tell the world that you were here Cause the love and the laughter Will live long after All of the sadness and the tears We'll meet again, my old friend Goodbye, goodbye Goodbye, goodbye My old friend, my old friend Goodbye, goodbye

Satisfied

I want him but he don't want me, . He wants somebody else that I can't be. And she's got a man that she wants to leave, 'Cause he can't seem to make her happy. Does it have to be wrong to make it feel right? Tell me why ain't nobody satisfied? Old man lookin' a photograph, Of a love that's long gone from his past. And his wife's got a letter that she can't read, From a boy who never came back from the sea. All these secrets or lies we keep deep inside Does it have to be wrong to make it feel right? Tell me why there ain't nobody satisfied, yeah? See that man walkin' down the street, Yeah, what are the odds, he's the one for me? An' what if I pass him by an' he's got the love I need? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell me why there ain't nobody satisfied? I want him but he don't want me, . He wants somebody else that I can't be. And she's got a man that she wants to leave, 'Cause he can't seem to make her happy. See that man walkin' down the street, Yeah, what are the odds, he's the one for me? An' what if I pass him by an' he's got the love I need?

You'll Be There

Hope is an anchor, and love is a ship Time is the ocean and life is a trip You don't know where you're going Til you know where you're at And if you can't read the stars Well you better have a map A compass and a conscience so you don't get lost at sea Around some lonely island, no one wants to be From the beginning of creation, I think our maker had plan For us to leave these shores and sail beyond the sand And let the good light guide to the waves and the wind To the beaches and a world where have never been And we'll climb upon a mountain, y'all we'll let our voices ring Those who've never tried they'll be the first to sing CHORUS: Woah My My I'll see you on the other side If I make it And it might be a long hard ride But I'm gonna take it Sometimes it seems I don't have a prayer Let the weather take me anywhere But I know I wanna go Where the streets are gold Cause you'll be there Oh my my You don't bring nothing with you here And you can't take nothing back I ain't never seen a hearse, with a luggage rack So I've torn my knees from praying Scarred my back from falling down Spent so much time flying high, til I'm face first in the ground So if you're up there watching me, can you talk to God and say, Tell him I might need a hand to see a boat someday Repeat Chorus Cause you'll be there Oh my my

Some People Change

His old man was a rebel yeller: Bad boy to the bone. He'd say: "Can't trust that other fella," He'd judge 'em by the tone of their skin. He was raised to think like his Dad: Narrow mind full of hate. On the road to no-where fast, Till the Grace of God got in the way. Then he saw the Light an' hit his knees an' cried an' said a prayer: Rose up a brand new man; left the old one right there. Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave. Don't give up hope: some people change. Against all odds, against the grain, Love finds a way: some people change. She was born with her mother's habit: You could say: "It's in her blood." She hates that she's gotta have it: As she fills her glass up. An she'd love to kill that bottle, But all she can think about, Is a, a better life, a second chance, An' everyone she's letting down. She throws that bottle down. Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave. Don't give up hope: some people change. Against all odds, against the grain, Love finds a way: some people change. Thank God for those who make it: Let them be the Light. (Let them be the light) (Some people change.) Here's to the strong; thanks to the brave. Don't give up hope: some people change. Against all odds, against the grain, Love finds a way: some people change. Some people change.
